Football Recap: Donegal Takes a Loss

After flying high against Northern Lebanon last Friday, Donegal came back down to earth. The Indians came up short against the Wyomissing Spartans on Saturday, falling 48-22. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost four in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Donegal lost, don't look at Leelan Baughman. Despite the final result, he rushed for 104 yards on only ten carries, and also picked up 37 receiving yards. The Indians are 2-1 when Baughman posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 0-3 otherwise.

Donegal's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Wyomissing, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Coming up, Donegal will be playing at home against Twin Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will need to watch out since the Raiders have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Wyomissing, they are taking a road trip to take on Daniel Boone at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Spartans will be up against the Blazers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 47.33 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
