Softball Recap: Glades Central Drops Highest Score of Season Against Pahokee

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Glades Central). They came out on top against the Pahokee Blue Devils by a score of 11-7 on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

The team relied heavily on Ana Rodriguez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs. She also brought in three RBI, marking her first of the season. Estrella Tovar was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

Glades Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .682. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Glades Central's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Pahokee, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Glades Central will take on Suncoast at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Suncoast has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.6 runs per game on average), something Glades Central will no doubt try to take advantage of. Pahokee will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Glades Day at 4:30 p.m. on April 9th.
