Baseball Recap: Lincoln Extends Winning Streak to Four

Lincoln extended their postseason success on Tuesday against Vacaville Christian. They put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 16-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 13 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Lincoln let Nicholas Chiu and Dexter Palmer run wild. Chiu went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Palmer went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Lincoln is undefeated when Chiu posts two or more runs, but 10-15 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Arriola, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lincoln kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

The win (which was Lincoln's fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-15. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Vacaville Christian, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 19-7 record.

Looking ahead, Lincoln will head out on the road to challenge Stevenson at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. Vacaville Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
