Basketball Recap: Pine Plains Takes a Loss

Pine Plains lost against Ellenville back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Pine Plains Bombers lost 77-55 to the Ellenville Blue Devils. While losing is never fun, the Bombers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 760th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 343rd).

This is the second loss in a row for Pine Plains and nudges their season record down to 3-10. As for Ellenville, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pine Plains will head out to face off against Rhinebeck at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Pine Plains is facing Rhinebeck at the right time seeing as Rhinebeck is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Ellenville, they are taking a road trip to square off against Dover at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ellenville will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: Dover will have lost eight straight heading into Friday's match.
