Softball Recap: Granite Hills Eagles vs. Helix Highlanders

Granite Hills scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They never let the Helix Highlanders onto the board and left with an 8-0 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Kaleigh Baugher looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Kailey Sandoval was excellent, going 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Audrey smale, who went 2-for-3 with a triple and a run.

The victory got Granite Hills back to even at 6-6. As for Helix, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.

Granite Hills will head out on the road to challenge Steele Canyon at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Steele Canyon will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Granite Hills surely won't give up without a fight. As for Helix, they will be playing in front of their home fans against El Capitan at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. El Capitan's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Helix's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
