Baseball Recap: Fairfield Prep Starts off Right with Win over Darien

Fairfield Prep had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Darien Blue Wave on Thursday.

Teddy Van Dussen looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Fairfield Prep saw nine different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Ventrelle, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Tommy Trudeau was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.

Looking ahead, Fairfield Prep will face off against Amity Regional at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Darien, they will square off against Westhill at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
