Softball Game Preview: Mortimer Jordan Blue Devils vs. Jasper Vikings

The Mortimer Jordan Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Jasper Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Mortimer Jordan's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.

Mortimer Jordan's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Hokes Bluff.

The team relied heavily on Amber Williston, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Harper Pridmore, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Mortimer Jordan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .458 or higher in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Jasper came up short against Orange Beach on Thursday, falling 13-3.

DeCaleigh Calvin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February.

Jasper's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Mortimer Jordan, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

Mortimer Jordan couldn't quite finish off Jasper when the teams last played on March 12th and fell 8-6. Can Mortimer Jordan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
