Basketball Game Preview: Mantachie Mustangs vs. Mooreville Troopers

Mantachie and Mooreville are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2019, but not for long. The Mantachie Mustangs will venture away from home to take on the Mooreville Troopers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Mantachie came up short against Hatley and fell 54-46. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Mooreville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against East Union, falling 53-29. While losing is never fun, the Troopers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while the Urchins are ranked 30th).

Mooreville now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Mantachie, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.

Mantachie came up short against Mooreville when the teams last played back in November, falling 49-38. Can Mantachie avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
