Baseball Game Preview: Kearns Cougars vs. Hunter Wolverines

The Kearns Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Hunter Wolverines at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 21 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Kearns and 25 for Hunter dating back to last season.

It was a proper cat-fight when Kearns faced off against West Jordan on Friday. The Cougars came up short against the Jaguars, falling 10-2.

Kearns saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Good, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Bostyn Ward also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Hunter lost 15-1 to Murray on Friday.

Hunter's loss dropped their record down to 0-21. As for Kearns, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-20.

Kearns beat Hunter 9-4 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
