Softball Recap: Plum's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

If Plum was feeling good fresh off their 13-0 takedown of Penn Hills on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs fell just short of the North Hills Indians by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Indians earlier this season, when they won 12-10.

Plum saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mackenzie Marotta, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.

Plum's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4. As for North Hills, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Plum and North Hills should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Mustangs will take on New Castle at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (34 vs. 197). Meanwhile, North Hills (ranked 29th) will meet Penn Hills (ranked 483rd) at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
