Basketball Game Preview: Neuqua Valley Wildcats vs. Waubonsie Valley Warriors

The Neuqua Valley Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Waubonsie Valley Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Neuqua Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Yorkville Christian, posting a 94-64 win.

Meanwhile, Waubonsie Valley didn't have too much trouble with Mukwonago on Saturday as they won 67-53. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 11th in Illinois, while the Indians are ranked 61st in Wisconsin), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Neuqua Valley is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.4 points per game. As for Waubonsie Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 24-1.

Neuqua Valley and Waubonsie Valley were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in January, but Neuqua Valley came up empty-handed after a 49-48 defeat. Can Neuqua Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
