Softball Game Preview: Rosebud-Lott Cougars vs. Bartlett Bulldogs

The Rosebud-Lott Cougars will challenge the Bartlett Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses apiece.

It was a proper cat-fight when Rosebud-Lott faced off against Granger on Tuesday. Rosebud-Lott took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Granger. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by exactly five runs.

Mekenzie Scheler was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Bartlett fell victim to Holland and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 16-0 to the Hornets.

Rosebud-Lott's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Bartlett, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Rosebud-Lott suffered a grim 14-5 defeat to Bartlett when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Rosebud-Lott avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
