Basketball Recap: Murdock Comes Up Short

Murdock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 71-33 defeat at the hands of the Ayer Shirley Panthers. The Blue Devils were not able to make up for their loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in January of 2025.

Murdock's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Ayer Shirley, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 3-6 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Murdock will venture away from home to face off against St. Bernard's Central Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Blue Devils will be up against the Bernardians' rather soft defense (which has allowed 56.75 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Ayer Shirley, they will head out on the road to take on West Boylston at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
