Stephenson piles up the points against Northwest Whitfield

Recap: Stephenson Jaguars vs. Northwest Whitfield Bruins

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Stephenson Jaguars walked away with it. They claimed a resounding 62-15 win over Northwest Whitfield at home. The win was nothing new for Stephenson as they're now sitting on five straight.

Devin Ingram had a dynamite game for Stephenson, rushing for 221 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 carries. Ingram was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 63 yards. Tyler Bercy was another key contributor, rushing for 108 yards and two touchdowns.

Although Northwest Whitfield took the loss, they still got scores from Gavin Nuckolls and Hudson Gray.

Stephenson pushed their record up to 9-2 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-9 Hapeville Charter and 2-8 Carver (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 43.9% over those games). As for Northwest Whitfield, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.

Stephenson will look to defend their home field on Friday against Luella at 7:30 p.m. Northwest Whitfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
