Baseball Game Preview: Legacy Lightning vs. Rocky Mountain Lobos

The Legacy Lightning will challenge the Rocky Mountain Lobos at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Legacy took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They blew past ThunderRidge 12-4. The victory continues a trend for the Lightning in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won five in a row.

Christopher Jewett was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Jack Schoenheider was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one triple, and one RBI.

Legacy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as ThunderRidge only posted a batting average of .269.

Meanwhile, while Rocky Mountain put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Horizon. Everything went Rocky Mountain's way against Horizon as Rocky Mountain made off with a 13-0 win.

The team relied heavily on Bradley Mallette, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Erick Jacobson, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3.

Legacy was able to grind out a solid victory over Rocky Mountain in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 13-10. Does Legacy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rocky Mountain turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
