While Carrick didn't have the best season last year (they finished 0-4), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the Obama Academy of International Studies Eagles with a sharp 19-2 win on Tuesday. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by 12 runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Jayla Dansby, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, five stolen bases, and four runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Jayda Rose was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and one stolen base.

Carrick kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Carrick's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Obama Academy of International Studies, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carrick will face off against Montour at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Obama Academy of International Studies, they will be playing at home against Taylor Allderdice at 3:15 p.m. on Monday.
