Football Recap: Northwest Whitfield Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Northwest Whitfield was riding high fresh off their 35-13 takedown of Coahulla Creek last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bruins took a 21-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Murray Mountaineers on Friday. The Bruins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mountaineers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Hudson Hulett had a dynamite game For North Murray., rushing for 115 yards and two scores, while also throwing for 121 yards and one TD on perfect 10-for-10 passing. Layten Myers helped out on the ground, rushing for 122 yards.

Northwest Whitfield's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for North Murray, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwest Whitfield will venture away from home to square off against Dalton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for North Murray, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
