Baseball Game Preview: South Sumter Raiders vs. Umatilla Bulldogs

For the second straight game, South Sumter will face off against Umatilla. The Raiders will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. South Sumter will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.

South Sumter is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over Umatilla.

For Umatilla's part, Jace Carlson was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Umatilla saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tate Bagwell, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

South Sumter pushed their record up to 23-4 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Umatilla, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-14.
