Baseball Recap: Pewamo-Westphalia Wins Going Away Against Bath

Pewamo-Westphalia never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past the Bath Fighting Bees 11-0. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Fighting Bees recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Trey Nurenberg made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Pewamo-Westphalia is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Nurenberg was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Alex Drysdale was incredible, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Brayton Thelen, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Pewamo-Westphalia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bath only posted a batting average of .056.

Pewamo-Westphalia's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Bath, their defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Pewamo-Westphalia will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Fighting Bees: the pair will be back at it again later today.
