Montverde Academy is ranked highly in their home state and on Sunday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Utah Prep. The Montverde Academy Eagles enjoyed a cozy 74-60 victory over the Utah Prep Athletes. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on five straight.

Montverde Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was CJ Ingram out in front who made all 6 shots he took racking up 16 points. Trent Sisley was another key player, going 7 for 12 en route to 15 points and eight rebounds.

Montverde Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Utah Prep only posted 13 assists.

Utah Prep's loss came despite strong showings from AJ Dybantsa Jr. and Anthony Felesi. Dybantsa Jr. dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 boards, while Felesi dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Dybantsa Jr. a new career-high in steals (four). Another player making a difference was Jackson Kiss, who posted nine points along with eight boards and three blocks.

Montverde Academy is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. As for Utah Prep, the loss snapped their winning streak at eight games and leaves them with a 16-5 record.

Montverde Academy has already played their next contest, a 45-41 defeat against AZ Compass Prep National on the 20th. As for Utah Prep, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Sagemont on January 30th.
