Baseball Game Preview: Loranger Wolves vs. Mandeville Skippers

Loranger hasn't had much luck against Mandeville recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Loranger Wolves will head out on the road to challenge the Mandeville Skippers at 11:00 a.m. Loranger's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Mandeville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Loranger saw some tournament action on Friday. They fell 4-1 to Slidell.

Meanwhile, Mandeville had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against Lakeshore.

Logan McNamara spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Mandeville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Hatchett, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Loranger's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Mandeville, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Loranger came up short against Mandeville in their previous matchup back in March of 2019, falling 19-15. Can Loranger avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
