Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ridgevue). They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Lewiston Bengals on Friday. The Warhawks not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since May 4, 2024.
Logan Hirasaki made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hirasaki was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Dante Brinegar was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Elliot Jamison also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Ridgevue was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lewiston only posted a batting average of .185.
The victory made it two in a row for Ridgevue and bumps their season record up to 3-1-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Lewiston, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
Coming up, Ridgevue will take on Sandpoint at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lewiston, they will challenge Columbia at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lewiston's pitchers better be ready for this one: Columbia has averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
