Recap: Spalding Jaguars vs. Griffin Bears
It was a good run, but the Spalding Jaguars unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. The contest between Spalding and Griffin wasn't particularly close, with Spalding falling 72-54. Spalding has not had much luck with Griffin recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Spalding got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Aaliyah Myers and
Kadin Johnson, who each put up no points.
Spalding's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Griffin, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spalding will challenge Baldwin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Baldwin knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 contests -- so hopefully Spalding likes a good challenge. As for Griffin, Griffin and Perry will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Perry will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 327th, while Griffin is ranked 139th).
