Recap: Midland Bulldogs vs. Midland Legacy Rebels
It was a good run, but The Midland Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 49-31 bruising from Midland Legacy. Midland has struggled against Midland Legacy recently, as their match on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
It was another big night for Marcos Davila, who threw for 392 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.3 yards per attempt, and also punched in a rushing score. Damien Johnson was in the mix too, providing Midland Legacy with two touchdowns.
Midland's defeat dropped their record down to 8-1. As for Midland Legacy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Midland will look to defend their home field on Friday against Permian at 7:00 p.m. Permian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Midland likes a good challenge. As for Midland Legacy, they will head out on the road to face off against Odessa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Odessa will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 189th, while Midland Legacy is ranked 30th).
