Softball Recap: Apex Takes a Loss

Apex was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 14-4 to the Middle Creek Mustangs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 4-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Apex saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addie Louder, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Blakely Sellers also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Apex's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-5. As for Middle Creek, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6.

Coming up, Apex will be playing in front of their home fans against Green Hope at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Apex's pitchers better be ready for this one: Green Hope has averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season. As for Middle Creek, they will head out on the road to square off against Green Level at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
