League recap: Schmiedt throws longest pass in league this season for South Sioux City

B District 4 recap September 17, 2013

Jake Schmiedt and Alex Borchers provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Wayne. The connection went for 80 yards, the longest such play in B District 4 this season.

Bennington moved up to 65 from 98 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Badgers climbed the ranks as a result of beating Plattsmouth 18-7.

South Sioux City's dynamic duo of Schmiedt and Borchers proved tough for the Blue Devils to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Schmiedt threw for 199 yards and Borchers had 80 yards receiving. Sammy Flores helped South Sioux City's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 45 yards.

The Cardinals' dynamic duo of Schmiedt and Borchers proved to be unstoppable against Wayne, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Borchers was the best wideout in the league this week as South Sioux City topped Terry Beair's team.

Triston Nicks was the best running back in B District 4 this week. He ran for 83 yards on 8 carries as Bennington bested the Blue Devils. Jake Bressman also contributed to the rushing game with 62 yards on the ground.

Daniel Maganda made the biggest impact on defense this week as Schuyler lost to Gross Catholic. The 5-foot-9 senior.

Schmiedt put up the best numbers through the air as the Cardinals defeated Wayne.

South Sioux City and the Blue Devils played the closest game in the league this week, with South Sioux City eventually emerging with a 15-14 victory. Schmiedt in the win.
