Basketball Recap: Hillcrest Christian Takes a Loss

Hillcrest Christian lost against Jackson Prep back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Hillcrest Christian Cougars took a blow against the Jackson Prep Patriots, falling 79-41. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Patriots are ranked sixth).

Hillcrest Christian's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Johnson, who on his way to 10 points. Johnson is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last ten games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaivyn Carter, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.

Hillcrest Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 20-11. As for Jackson Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Hillcrest Christian nor Jackson Prep have any future games scheduled.
