Football Recap: Diego Rivera Comes Up Short

Diego Rivera had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-6 to make it four. They had to suffer through a 62-0 loss at the hands of the Maywood CES Wolfpack. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Huskies were not able to get on the board.

As for Maywood CES, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Carlos Castaneda looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 63 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries. Those 63 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dylan Rodriguez, who rushed for 85 yards and one score on only 12 carries.

Diego Rivera will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Los Angeles at 3:30 p.m. on the 17th. As for Maywood CES, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-0 win against West Adams on the 9th.
