Baseball Recap: Vance Charter Wins Going Away Against Excelsior Classical Academy

After only two runs in their last game, Vance Charter made sure to put some runs up on the board against Excelsior Classical Academy on Monday. Everything went the Vance Charter Knights' way against the Excelsior Classical Academy Flying Lions as the Vance Charter Knights made off with a 17-0 win. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Flying Lions, too.

Vance Charter got a massive performance out of Julius Burke, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. The dominant performance gave Burke a new career-high in RBI. Austin Dethmers was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Vance Charter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Excelsior Classical Academy only posted an OBP of .154.

Vance Charter now has a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Vance Charter will venture away from home to take on Clover Garden School at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Vance Charter is facing Clover Garden School at the right time seeing as Clover Garden School is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Excelsior Classical Academy, they will take on Eno River Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Eno River Academy has three straight victories, Excelsior Classical Academy has 11 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
