Recap: Illiana Christian Vikings vs. Andrean Fighting 59ers
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Illiana Christian Vikings, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 40-20 walloping at the hands of the Fighting 59ers on Saturday. Illiana Christian's defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
Ella Olthof was Illiana Christian's leading scorer, having posted six points.
Cheyenne DeJong held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.
Avery Olthof took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with four assists.
Andrean was led to victory by Lindsay Arcella and Maddie Walton. Arcella scored 20 points, while Walton dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Illiana Christian's loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Andrean, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-14 record this season.
Illiana Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Andrean, they and LaVille will face off at 4:00 p.m. on February 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Andrean focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Saturday.
