Baseball Recap: Northwest's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Northwest won the last time they faced Ville Platte and things went their way on Thursday too. Everything went the Northwest Raiders' way against the Ville Platte Bulldogs as the Northwest Raiders made off with a 20-2 win. The match marked the Raiders' most dominant victory of the season.

Ethan Jenkins made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February. He was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Four bases. Northwest is 4-1 when Jenkins posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-15 otherwise.

In other batting news, Northwest got a massive performance out of Ty Savoy, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Savoy has posted over his last five games. Aden Wheeler was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Four bases. while going 2-for-2.

Northwest hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ville Platte struck out seven times.

Northwest's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-16. As for Ville Platte, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwest will challenge Church Point at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ville Platte, they will take on Singer at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Singer has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.13 runs per game on average), something Ville Platte will no doubt try to take advantage of.
