Basketball Recap: Escondido Adventist Academy Comes Up Short

Escondido Adventist Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Rio Lindo Adventist Spartans and fell 55-22. The Hawks were not able to make up for their loss to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in December of 2015.

Rio Lindo Adventist's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Will Yang led the charge by going 5 of 9 en route to 13 points and eight steals. Yang has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Campbell, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 13 points and four steals.

Escondido Adventist Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Rio Lindo Adventist, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.

Escondido Adventist Academy has already played their next game (against Lodi Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Rio Lindo Adventist wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 50-30 victory against Pine Tree Academy on the 23rd.
