Baseball Recap: Northeast Vernon County Takes a Loss

Northeast Vernon County extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-5 in the process. They came up short against the Lockwood Tigers, falling 12-0. The Knights were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

As for Lockwood, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-7. The match marked their most dominant win of the season.

For Lockwood's part, the team relied heavily on Kolton Kleeman, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Nik Thieman, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Looking ahead, Northeast Vernon County is taking a road trip to challenge Bronaugh at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lockwood, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against New Heights Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m.
