Recap: Akron Rams vs. Wray Eagles
Even though the Akron Rams have not done well against the Wray Eagles recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Akron took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 54-23 win over Wray. With Akron ahead 32-10 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Akron's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kashlee Randel, who scored 17 points along with six assists and three steals. That's the first time this season that Randel scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinsey Grauer, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and six assists.
Akron now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Wray, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
Akron and Fleming will face off at 4:00 p.m. on January 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Fleming is ranked 57th, while Akron is ranked 60th). Wray won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Denver Christian at 12:00 p.m. on January 13th.
