Soccer Recap: Northwest Comes Up Short

Northwest was the 2-0 winner over Keller Central when they last played one another back in March of 2016, but their luck changed this time around. The Northwest Texans came up short against the Keller Central Chargers on Tuesday, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, the Texans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 296th, while the Chargers are ranked 45th).

Northwest's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Keller Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwest will challenge Southlake Carroll at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Southlake Carroll's defense has only allowed 0.5 goals per game this season, so Northwest's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Keller Central, they will face off against Bell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keller Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.3 goals per game this season.
