Volleyball Recap: Lyman Eagles vs. Pinedale Wranglers
Lyman faced Pinedale in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Eagles took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wranglers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wranglers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on October 3rd.
While Lyman ultimately came up short, they really made Pinedale work, particularly in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 24-26, 28-26, 25-18.
Lexie Snyder paced Lyman's offense, picking up 14 kills. Snyder got some help from Amy Eyre and her 38 assists. Alexis Walker controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Leading Pinedale to victory were Megan Boulter and Remedios Mata. Boulter had 16 digs and two aces, while Mata had 11 digs and two aces. Boulter is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last five games she's played. Bodie Walker also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.
Lyman has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-15-1 record this season. As for Pinedale, the victory snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 18-13-1 record.
As of now, neither Lyman nor the Wranglers have any future games scheduled.
