Baseball Recap: Live Oak Makes It 21 in a Row at Home

On Tuesday, Live Oak faced Destrehan in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Everything went the Live Oak Eagles' way against the Destrehan Wildcats as the Live Oak Eagles made off with a 13-6 victory. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

Mac Beadle was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cal Cassard, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Beadle wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Live Oak kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

Live Oak's win was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Destrehan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-5.

Looking ahead, Live Oak will take on Lutcher at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Destrehan, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Destrehan Wildcats take on Northshore Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Northshore's pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so Destrehan's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
