Basketball Game Preview: Arcola Purple Riders vs. Neoga Indians

The Arcola Purple Riders and the Neoga Indians will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Arcola will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Last Tuesday, Arcola got the win against Cerro Gordo/Bement by a conclusive 59-38. The Purple Riders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Neoga came up short against Casey-Westfield on Tuesday and fell 49-40. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 515th, while the Warriors are ranked 58th).

Arcola pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.9 points per game. As for Neoga, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
