Basketball Game Preview: Dawson Springs Panthers vs. Caldwell County Tigers

Dawson Springs hasn't had much luck against Caldwell County recently, but that could start to change on Monday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Panthers take on the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Dawson Springs' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 13 matchups.

On Saturday, Dawson Springs didn't have too much breathing room in their game against St. Mary, but they still walked away with a 69-65 victory.

Dawson Springs' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Montgomery Johnston, who went 7-for-12 on his way to 28 points along with five assists and five boards. The contest was Johnston's fourth in a row with at least 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rex Blue, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 15 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Caldwell County ended up a good deal behind Mayfield on Monday and lost 76-61. The Tigers have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Dawson Springs' victory bumped their record up to 16-14. As for Caldwell County, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-10.
