Basketball Recap: Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Comes Up Short

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 46-27 bruising from the Monticello Sages. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sages apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Sophie Monts was Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Addison Yeakel held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.

Monticello's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ali Weidner, who posted 11 points along with five boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Megan Allen, who earned nine points and five rebounds.

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Monticello, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5.

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg will compete for holiday cheer at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Monticello, they will head out to square off against Warrensburg-Latham at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
