Preview: Nathan Hale Rangers vs. Pryor Tigers
Nathan Hale is 0-5 against Pryor since October of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Nathan Hale Rangers will head out on the road to face off against the Pryor Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Nathan Hale is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 55-20, which was the final score in Nathan Hale's tilt against Bishop Kelley on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Nathan Hale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 225th, while Bishop Kelley is ranked 20th).
The losing side was boosted by Deon Franklin, who threw for 257 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
Meanwhile, Pryor can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They blew past Grove, posting a 46-7 win on the road. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Pryor.
Nathan Hale's defeat was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. Sadly, the team can't blame their woes on tough opposition, as that stretch included 2-9 Skiatook and 2-8 East Central (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 44.5% over those games). As for Pryor, their win bumped their record up to 5-5.
Nathan Hale took a serious blow against Pryor in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 69-12. Can Nathan Hale avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
