Softball Recap: Mt. Eden Has No Trouble Against San Lorenzo

Mt. Eden won the last time they faced San Lorenzo and things went their way on Wednesday too. Everything went the Mt. Eden Monarchs' way against the San Lorenzo Grizzlies as the Mt. Eden Monarchs made off with a 15-2 victory. The Monarchs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by ten runs or more this season.

Kealani Temoche made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Shelby Newcomb was incredible, scoring four runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Cruz, who scored a run while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Mt. Eden always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as San Lorenzo only posted an OBP of .238.

The win made it two in a row for Mt. Eden and bumps their season record up to 4-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12 runs. As for San Lorenzo, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Eden will square off against Berkeley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Berkeley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season. As for San Lorenzo, they will take on Mt. Diablo at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. San Lorenzo is facing Mt. Diablo at the right time seeing as Mt. Diablo is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
