Baseball Game Preview: Gillespie Miners vs. Pawnee Indians

Gillespie is a perfect 3-0 against Pawnee since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Miners will be playing at home against the Indians at 4:30 p.m. Gillespie is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, Gillespie beat Hillsboro 9-4. The victory continues a trend for the Miners in their matchups with the Hiltoppers: they've now won six in a row.

Jack Kaylor was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Shaw, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Pawnee won against Riverton on Tuesday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Indians sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over Auburn. Winning may never get old, but the Indians sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Pawnee's victory bumped their record up to 18-12. As for Gillespie, their win bumped their record up to 15-8.

Gillespie was able to grind out a solid victory over Pawnee in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, winning 7-2. Do the Miners have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
