Softball Recap: West Greene Buffaloes vs. Chuckey-Doak Black Knights
After flying high against Cosby on Tuesday, West Greene came back down to earth. The Buffaloes fell 12-9 to the Chuckey-Doak Black Knights on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Black Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-8 back in March.
Autumn Carter was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
West Greene's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Chuckey-Doak, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. West Greene will head out to face off against Johnson County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Chuckey-Doak, they will venture away from home to take on Hampton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.9 runs per game on average), something the Black Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
