Wings Academy waltzed into their match  on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They snuck past the Truman Mustangs with  a  52-47 victory. While the Wings  didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Wings Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Fabian Jimbo led the charge by  dropping  a double-double on 13  points and 18  boards. Jimbo is  on a roll when it comes to  boards, as he's  now  pulled down 14 or more in the last four games he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Deshawn Carnegie Jr, who  went 7 of 15  on his way to 18  points and six  rebounds.
 Wings Academy  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 14  offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least eight  offensive rebounds in four consecutive  games.
Wings Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Truman, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
 Wings Academy and Bay Shore will round out the year against one another at  at 2:00  p.m.  on December 28th. Wings Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.6  points per game  this season. As for Truman, they will get a bit of extra time to process the  defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Albany at 3:30  p.m.  on January 4, 2025.
