Volleyball Recap: Cornerstone Christian's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

Cornerstone Christian lost against Villa Angela-St. Joseph back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Patriots took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings. The loss put an end to the Patriots' undefeated start to the season.

Cornerstone Christian started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-13, 25-20, 25-14.

Gabby Colquitt paced Cornerstone Christian's offense, picking up 13 kills. Colquitt got some help from Savannah Patton and her 14 assists. Finally, Colquitt was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Having lost for the first time this season, Cornerstone Christian fell to 3-1. As for Villa Angela-St. Joseph, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Cornerstone Christian has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Westside Christian Academy on the 29th. As for Villa Angela-St. Joseph, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against North on the 30th.
