Basketball Recap: Pike Valley Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

Pike Valley won the last time they faced Natoma, and Breanna Reeves did her part to make sure it happened again. The Pike Valley Panthers put the hurt on the Natoma Tigers with a sharp 52-29 victory on Friday thanks to Reeves, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Pike Valley's points.

Another player making a difference was Bailey Odell, who posted 14 points and eight boards. Those 14 points gave her a new career-high.

Despite the defeat, Natoma saw an underclassman step up: freshman Lucy Alexander almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. MaKayla Murphy was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Pike Valley is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Natoma, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Coming up, Pike Valley will face off against St. John's/Tipton Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Natoma, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers take on the Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
