Volleyball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Veterans

Veterans waltzed into their contest on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top against the Peach County Trojans by a score of 2-0. The Warhawks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Trojans, too.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Veterans was: they took both sets by at least 14 points. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-11.

Leading Veterans to victory were Jasmine Cyrulinski and Piper Seaman. Cyrulinski had seven kills and seven aces, while Seaman had five digs and five aces. Those seven aces gave Cyrulinski a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Veterans was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces in nine consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Veterans' win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Peach County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Veterans has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Northside on the 16th. As for Peach County, they will square off against Stratford Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
