            Softball Recap: Weaver Bearcats vs. Saks Wildcats        
        
		
        
        
            It was a proper cat-fight when Weaver challenged Saks on Thursday. The Bearcats walked away with  an   11-7  win over the Wildcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  14-11  back in March.

 Reyleigh Partner made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  tossed seven innings while giving up  four earned  (and three unearned) runs off   eight  hits. Those  hits marked the first that  she  allowed this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 1-for-3 with one  home run and three  RBI. Those  three  RBI gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Ashlyn Coleman was  incredible,  scoring two  runs and  stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. Those  three  stolen bases gave  her a new career-high.  Caitlyn Edmonson was another key player,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
Weaver pushed their record up to 8-7 with the  victory, which was their fourth straight  at home. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Saks, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost ten of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record  this season.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Weaver will be taking part in a tournament against Victory Christian  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Saks, they will venture away from home to  challenge Gaston  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
