Volleyball Recap: Germantown Academy Starts off Right with Win over Villa Maria Academy

Germantown Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Villa Maria Academy Hurricanes by a score of 3-1. That's more bragging rights for the Patriots, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The final score came out to 25-23, 17-25, 25-17, 25-22.

Pilar Presson paced Germantown Academy's offense, picking up 11 kills. Presson got some help from Nicole Ward and her 19 assists. Delaney Schwartz controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Germantown Academy will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Spring-Ford at 4:45 p.m. As for Villa Maria Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Springfield at 4:45 p.m. on September 12.
